The drawn-out sale saga of the Phoenix Coyotes finally could be nearing a resolution.
Prospective buyer Greg Jamison could have a deal hammered out as early as Friday that would keep the Coyotes playing in Glendale, Ariz., the Phoenix Business Journal reported Thursday.
Jamison has been working out terms for a new arena-management deal with Glendale city manager Horatio Skeete, after the city backed off on a 20-year, $300-million arena payment package to the buyer of the team.
Jamison reportedly is OK with a reduced payment plan and wants to get a deal done this week, according to multiple sources.
The NHL has been searching for three years for a new owner of the Coyotes.
