Bryan McCabe says he's retired
By QMI Agency

No paperwork has been filed with the league but former Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Bryan McCabe says he is retired.

McCabe last played in 2010-11, when he split the season between the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers. He captained the Panthers from 2009 until his trade to New York at the deadline last year.

"Am I trying to play again? No. I'm done," McCabe told the Miami Herald. "I'm down here, retired, have three kids now so that's what I'm doing. That's real work. The offers came in, but I don't want to leave here. We called it a day.

"I knew this day was coming and I'm fine. I'm settled in."

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
