NEW YORK -- Montreal goaltender Jaroslav Halak, Anaheim centre Saku Koivu and Boston netminder Tuukka Rask have been named the NHL's three stars for the week ending April 4.

Halak earned the top honour for posting back-to-back shutouts last week in helping the Canadiens claim victories over Philadelphia and Buffalo. The 24-year-old stopped all 35 shots in 1-0 decision over the Flyers on April 2, then the next night made 29 saves for his fifth shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory against the Sabres.

In 42 contests this year, Halak is 26-12-3 with a 2.31 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

The second star went to Koivu for registering an NHL-best eight points (four goals and four assists) in four games. His performance led to the Ducks claiming seven of a possible eight points during the week as they remain in the thick of things for a playoff berth in the Western Conference. His best game came in a 5-2 victory at Colorado on March 31 when he notched a goal and three assists.

Rask took home the third star for posting a 2-1-0 mark to go with an 0.55 goals-against average and a .977 save percentage, including one shutout in four appearances.
