Healy lands at HNIC
By ROB LONGLEY, SUN MEDIA

His voice is no longer heard with the NHLPA but Glenn Healy will be heard in a much larger forum this fall.

The former goaltender has signed on with Hockey Night In Canada to be an analyst with the network. Before leaving to become the PA's director of player affairs, Healy was an outspoken voice on TSN's hockey coverage.

CBC also announced that another former goaltender, Kevin Weekes, and former Montreal Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau, will join the Hockey Night crew. It is unclear what their specific assignments will be at this point.

Given his opinions and delivery, Healy could be groomed as a logical replacement for Don Cherry, the iconic figure of sportscasting in this country. Grapes isn't going anywhere soon but one day will need a successor.

Healy, who ended his career as a backup goaltender for the Maple Leafs, resigned from the NHLPA not long after Paul Kelly was voted out as executive director.
