The last owner of the Winnipeg Jets believes the city could support an NHL franchise.
Barry Shenkarow told the Business News Network yesterday that the league's return to the Manitoba capital wouldn't be a big money-maker, but it would at least break even.
"We've got a new building," Shenkarow said. "There's business issues that would have to be resolved. I don't think somebody could get a return on their capital at 200-million dollars, owning a team in Winnipeg. But if you wanted to own a team that wasn't going to lose money, Winnipeg could support a team."
