Today is decision day for Mats Sundin. Or not.

Rejecting reports that his client already had selected the New York Rangers over the Vancouver Canucks, J.P. Barry, Sundin's agent, suggested a choice could be drawn out until Saturday.

Having talked to Sundin yesterday, Barry said the big Swede continues to struggle over his destination, even though most observers figure he'll end up in the Big Apple.

The Rangers are said to be offering a pro-rated $5 million US deal, about half of what the Canucks are offering. The Canucks have kept their two-year, $20 million package on the table since Sundin became an unrestricted free agent in July.

In order to land Sundin, the Rangers must find a way to clear cap space.

"I guess if he does decide to go to New York, the possibility is the offer is conditional," Barry told AM 640. "It would be very simple to sign with Vancouver. There are no complications."

The NHL's Christmas roster freeze runs from tomorrow through Dec. 27.
