Eric Lindros will do much more than announce his retirement from hockey tomorrow in London.
Dr. Bob Litchfield, medical director of the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic, said Lindros will make a "significant announcement for all of North America."
Speculation is it will involve a major financial contribution to honour Dr. Peter Fowler, a founder and former medical director of the clinic, now working in Dubai. Fowler will be in London for the announcement at the London Hunt and Country Club.
"Eric has tried to acknowledge and honour Pete and his part in helping out with his career," Litchfield said. "There will be benefits to the people of London."
Lindros had the potential to be one of the most dominant players in NHL history, but was slowed by injuries.
"Eric counted on Pete for access to care and to find the right people to treat him," Litchfield said.
