Plans are in place for Canada to play host to a tournament as part of its summer camp this year.

“It looks like we are going to go in Montreal with the Czechs and the Russians, and our debate will be whether we have two teams or we have one larger group,” Scott Salmond, Hockey Canada’s senior director of hockey operations, said Wednesday.

“We are still talking with the United States about potentially crossing over down to Lake Placid with the Swedes and Finns coming up. But we have a pretty good thing going with the Russians and the Czechs.”

Canada participated in USA Hockey’s summer camp tournament in Lake Placid for the first time last August, but had an eye toward holding its own event.
