MALMO, SWEDEN - When Scott Laughton lines up to take a draw, he can’t help but think of Claude Giroux.

Laughton, a Philadelphia Flyers prospect who stars for the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League, has made a point of seeking out the Flyers centre for faceoff tips, whether it was during Laughton’s brief time in a Philadelphia sweater earlier this year or in training camp in September.

“I’ve asked Giroux what to do,” Laughton said on Friday at the world junior championship. “He is not the strongest guy (physically), but he takes draws against big guys and he taught me a couple of things with my feet and things like that, just little tricks and I have used them this year.

“They have definitely helped.”
