Brent Sutter is sticking with Jake Paterson.

There was the thought that Zach Fucale might start for Canada against the Czech Republic in the second game of the 2014 world junior championship, but Sutter said Friday that Paterson will be in goal Saturday.

“I’m going to give him another opportunity tomorrow, and he just has to continue to take the ball and run with it,” Sutter, Canada’s coach, said in reference to Paterson. “I’m not a believer in rotating goalies in this tournament, I don’t think that is the purpose. You want to go with someone who is riding the hot hand.

“But you have to assume at some point Fucale is going to get that opportunity. We play a lot of games here in a short period of time coming up.”
