Good news for the Canadians in their preparation for the 2014 world junior hockey championship:

The team practised in Copenhagen on Monday and forward Jonathan Drouin, who suffered a mild concussion during a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game 10 days earlier, participated.

It was the first on-ice workout for Drouin with his Canadian teammates. The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect should help spearhead the offence once the tournament starts on Dec. 26.

Defenceman Josh Morrissey, who had been bothered by a minor injury, also practised.

"It's exciting," Drouin told TSN. "It's boring to be out. Hockey Canada told me from the beginning: 'We're not going to push you right away. We want you to be healthy,' and I feel healthy now and I think it was the right thing to do."
