On a day that Hockey Canada officially put into motion a series of changes with an eye to getting back on top of the world junior hockey heap, it called on an old friend to spearhead that goal.

Brent Sutter, the head coach of a Canadian junior team that didn’t lose a game in 2005 and 2006 en route to two gold medals, will be back behind the bench for Canada at the 2014 championship in Malmo, Sweden.

Before Sutter and the team gets there it will be aided by a new management team at the Program of Excellence that has a task to improve Canada at the under-17, under-18 and under-20 levels.
