Scheifele at loss to explain Canada's failure

UFA, RUSSIA - The 2013 version of Team Canada will go down as the first in 15 years to come home empty-handed.

"It is a tough feeling to think about that now," said Mark Sheifele, who led Canada with five goals. "It definitely hurts and it stings. You're going to have to get past it. It's a new day tomorrow. You've got to be able to move on with your life and your career. You can learn something from it. If you lose a game, you have to come back that much stronger the next game."

Despite the fact this team broke Canada's medal-winning streak, Scheifele said it wasn't for a lack of effort.

"We showed a lot of battle and we gave it our all, for sure," said Scheifele. "I don't know what it was. In this tournament there are so many things, just one little thing that can happen and it changes for you. It's a tough thing to go through but we battled hard to get back in that game. We showed a lot of character getting back in it, but it's a tough ending.
