UFA, RUSSIA - He once was part of the Legion of Doom and now he sees why Group B at the 2013 world junior tournament has been called the Pool of Death.

"I saw the Russia-Canada game and the U.S.-Canada game and those matches were, by far, the best ones," said former NHLer Mikael Renberg, at the tournament doing colour for Swedish TV.

"The group (with Finland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Latvia) was weak (other than Sweden). Finland, they looked nervous and tense. The Czech team was average. The only team that really surprised me was the Swiss. They played a physical game and north-to-south hockey. They didn't waste any time with the puck."
