Canada's Andre Tourigny happy to be a bench boss
By CHRIS STEVENSON, QMI Agency

World junior medal round begins

UFA, RUSSIA - He’s a leader on his own team, a go-to guy used to being the focus when the game is on the line and a split-second decision is needed.

Here, he’s part of the rank-and-file for Team Canada at the world junior championship and happy for the chance.

Assistant coach Andre Tourigny has given up his Christmas and New Year’s for a third time to go behind Canada’s bench, having been a part of the silver-medal efforts in 2010 and 2011.

The burly coach of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL -- the man they call “Bear” -- didn’t hesitate when asked why he has answered the call again.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
