Five reasons for Canadian optimism at world junior

Canada opens the 2012-13 World Junior on Boxing Day against Germany.




UFA, Russia - Team Canada got a chance to take a break Tuesday after earning a bye to the semifinals at the world junior championship after finishing tops in the their group after the preliminary round.

The players and staff had a chance for a New Year’s Eve dinner with family members who are here to see the tournament. The coaches worked on preparing their gameplan for the semfinal.

As the tournament now enters the elimination games, here are five reasons Canadians can be optimistic about their team’s chances.
