Yaroslav Kosov scored his first three goals in this year's world junior tournament as Russia rolled over Germany 7-0 in preliminary round play Saturday.

Kosov's third-period hat trick, which included a shorthanded goal that wrapped up the scoring, came after the outcome was decided. Russia led the overmatched Germans 3-0 after one period and 4-0 after 40 minutes.

Nikita Kucherov, Nail Yakupov, with his first goal in 10 games over two world junior tourneys, Danil Zharkov and Albert Yarullin also scored for Russia while Andrei Vasilevski stopped 41 shots for the shutout.

German netminder Marvin Cuppar made 36 saves to keep his team within a converted touchdown of the high-flying hosts.

Sweden 5 Latvia 1

The defending world junior champs scored three times with the man advantage to down Latvia.

Viktor Arvidsson scored twice for Sweden while Emil Molin, Sebastian Collberg and Alexander Wennberg also scored.

Teodors Blugers had the only goal for Latvia, a second-period marker that briefly tied it 1-1.

Niklas Lundstrom made 20 saves for Sweden while Ivars Punnenovs stopped 41 shots for Latvia.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
