UFA, Russia — Steve Spott is hoping Malcolm Subban can be the next Carey Price.

Spott, the head coach of Canada at the 2013 world junior championship, has stuck with his pre-tournament plan of riding one netminder, and this year it’s Malcolm Subban, who made 25 saves in a 9-3 victory against Germany on Wednesday.

Price, in 2007, played every minute of the world junior in Sweden as Canada won gold. No goalie has gone the distance for Canada since.
