This crowning moment was never really in doubt.

Although there was plenty of hype going into the gold medal game featuring Canada and Russia in the 2005 World Junior Hockey Championship, the drama didn’t last long.

“Our guys were so well-prepared and focused,” said forward Jeff Carter.
