By TERRY KOSHAN, QMI Agency
Canada's road to the 2013 world junior championship hit a few bumps on Thursday. Miro Aaltonen scored the winning goal in the third period, giving Finland a 3-2 win in an exhibition game against Canada in Vantaa, Finland. The Finns took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Markus Granlund, a Calgary Flames prospect, at 15:12 of the first period during a two-man advantage. Canada got a pair of even-strength goals -- by Griffin Reinhart and Mark Scheifele -- during a span of 36 seconds early in the second period to take a 2-1 lead. But Finland, on another two-man advantage, tied the game at 10:02 of the second on a goal by Ville Jarvelainen. |
