Quinn sticking with Tokarski
By SUN MEDIA STAFF

Dustin Tokarski will make his third straight start in goal for Canada tonight.

He has let in some soft goals against the U.S. and Russia, but in both games came up big when it counted.

"Let's face it, he made the big saves in the shootout (against Russia) for us and read those really well, but there were a couple (goals) I wasn't comfortable with and I'm certain he's not comfortable with," said coach Pat Quinn, whose team has given up nine goals in its past two games.

TAVARES MISSES THE CUT

Quinn cleared up a story by saying he did not tell John Tavares that he shouldn't play like Blackhawks great Stan Mikita. Quinn said Mikita was the first player to cut him in a game. "I waited 14 years to pay him back," Quinn laughed. "I probably (told Tavares), if you don't play like Mikita I'll give you your first cut."

LOOK OF VICTORY

Saturday night's dramatic win over Russia will no doubt be long remembered by Canadian hockey fans. "That's where you want to be, in that situation, the tournament on the line and the whole country watching," said Canadian defenceman P.K. Subban, who was on the ice when Jordan Eberle scored with 5.4 seconds left in regulation time to tie the game.

"I can't say enough about Jordan Eberle," added Subban, a Montreal Canadiens draft choice.

"The look on Eberle's face when he scored that goal. I was the first guy to him and that look on his face will stay with me for the rest of my life."

FLY HIGHER THAN AN EAGLE

The biggest crowd Swedish goalie Jacob Markstrom remembers performing in front of before this tournament was around 8,000-10,000. "I played relegation in Sweden, one of my first games with the senior team last year," said Markstrom, a second-round pick of Jacques Martin's Florida Panthers. "That was a pretty big game, too. If you lose, you go to the second league." And? "My first shutout, against Belfour," he said. Belfour? "Eddie Belfour. Eddie 'The Eagle' Belfour. It was pretty fun," he said. In two games vs. the former Panthers (Leafs, Stars, Hawks and Stars) goalie, Markstrom went 2-0.
