OTTAWA - Shean Donovan is returning to his junior roots.

The former 67's and Senators winger has been hired by the 67's as an assistant coach.

"Shean Donovan was a character player with tremendous work ethic and fierce determination and it's a privilege to welcome him to our team," 67's GM/coach Chris Byrne said.

Donovan, 38, played 951 NHL games over 15 seasons. He'll join a staff that includes associate coach Misha Donskov and fellow assistant Travis Crickard.

"I'm happy and excited to be part of the 67's organization again," Donovan said. "It's the most storied franchise in junior hockey."
