Tickets packages for the 2014 Memorial Cup to be held in London next May will cost between $600 and $680.

No individual tickets will be available immediately because all the tickets were sold in packages. But, as the tournament approaches, tickets may become available if those who committed a $25 deposit for the 7,000 ticket packages that sold opt not to pick them up.

The Knights also have a waiting list of two thousand fans who are waiting for ticket packages to become available.

The tournament will take place May 16 through May 25 at Budweiser Gardens and will consist of eight games as well as a tiebreaker game, if necessary.

All games will be included in a ticket package. Knights’ season ticket holders will not be guaranteed their season seat because of Canadian Hockey League ticketing requirements.

The price per package in the 100 and 200 levels is $680. For tickets in the 300 level, the price per package is $600. Additional facility and service fees will apply.

Seat locations will be confirmed in early September and will be sent out via e-mail to the e-mail address of the primary account holder. There will be no opportunity to change seats. Any fan who no longer wants a package once the seats have been assigned will receive their deposit back in full.

The Knights held the Memorial Cup in May 2005. Ticket packages then were $296. The Gardens holds 9,046 but a number of seats have to be held back for the CHL and sponsors.

In Saskatoon, the Credit Union Centre seats 15,100 and ticket packages ranged from $99 to $599, not including additional fees.

“We wanted to be in line with the package prices of this event -- the most recent in Saskatoon,” said Trevor Whiffen, governor of the Knights and the lead in the club’s Memorial Cup bid package. “We wanted it to be comparable to other events at the Budweiser Gardens.”

Whiffen said the Knights and Budweiser Gardens executives had a long discussion about pricing.

“You want to be fair to the patrons,” Whiffen said. “But you also want to be sure you meet the financial obligation of the event.”

The Knights will begin to accept payments for the packages on June 10, 2013. The deadline for full payment of packages will be November 1, 2013. All unpaid packages at that time will be released and resold to fans on the waiting list.

Payment can be made in person with cash, debit or credit card at the London Knights Armoury or over the phone with credit card at 519-681-0800, extension 1. The Armoury is open Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ticket packages will be available to be picked up in the spring of 2014.
