Despite his youthfulness, Sean Day is a worldly kid.

Born in Belgium. Spent three of his early years in Singapore. Grew up playing hockey in Michigan. And, through it all, the 15-year-old defenceman still considers himself a Canadian.

But when it came time to hit the road to scout the top prospects for the OHL draft, Mississauga Steelheads coach/general manager James Boyd didn’t bother making the trip to watch Day’s Detroit Compuware team.
