Canada in Ivan Hlinka tournament final

Canada held the Czechs to just 12 shots Friday en route to a 5-2 win and a berth in the final of the under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial hockey tournament.

The Canadians, seeking their fifth consecutive championship in this tournament, will meet Finland in the gold-medal match Saturday. The Finns defeated Sweden 5-4 in overtime Friday in the other semifinal.

Bo Horvat scored twice while Sam Reinhart had one goal and three assists to lead Canada in its semifinal win at Breclev, Czech Republic.

Nic Petan and Max Domi also scored for the Canadians, who outshot the Czechs 24-12.

Lubos Rob had both Czech goals.

Also Friday, the Russians won the fifth-place game, defeating Switzerland 7-5, while the U.S. took the seventh-place game with a 5-3 win over the Slovaks.
