Kerr gets green light to buy Majors
By QMI AGENCY

The Ontario Hockey League board of governors has approved the sale of the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors to businessman Elliott Kerr, the league announced Monday.

Kerr, president of Landmark Sport Group Inc., will be the majority owner and the team will continue to play home games at the Hershey Centre.

"I have been a proud resident of Mississauga for 25 years, my six year-old twins are actively involved in minor hockey here, our Mississauga Marathon event will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2013 and our Landmark Sport Group office is based here as well," Kerr said.

The team will have a new moniker to be unveiled after a name-the-team contest. All connections with St. Michael's College will be severed.

James Boyd will remain as general manager and coach while Scott Rogers has been appointed vice-president and director of business operations.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
