Hishon reminded of ties to Bieber

Joey Hishon doesn’t have a serious case of Bieber fever.
But there’s a really good chance the Owen Sound Attack star centre has seen 17-year-old pop star Justin Bieber putt.
“He’s younger than I am but I know he and I both golfed at the Stratford muni,” the 19-year-old Colorado Avalanche first rounder from Stratford, Ont., said. “I hung around there a lot growing up and I know who he is. Obviously, Stratford’s a smaller, close-knit community.”
A junior membership at the Stratford Municipal Golf Course goes for $240 a year these days. It’s just 25 bucks plus HST to play 18 holes there.
Hishon’s a little too busy to tee off this week — his OHL champion Attack open their Memorial Cup tournament Saturday night against the Kootenay Ice at Mississauga’s Hershey Centre.
Hishon was reminded of his Stratford ties to the “Baby” singer with the nest-like hair-do early in their playoff run.
“I saw the sign someone held up in London (in Owen Sound’s first round series against the Knights),” Hishon recalled. “It said Justin Bieber was the 92nd toughest kid from Stratford and I was No. 98.
“That was pretty funny.”
Hishon recently threw the busy Bieber a message via his Twitter account.
“Not yet,” Hishon said.
Better hurry up, Biebs. Never know when you might need good seats for an Avs game next season.
