Domi to Knights? Maybe
By QMI Agency
Growing rumblings about the ultimate OHL destination of Max Domi - the highly talented son of ex-NHL tough guy Tie Domi - now involve the London Knights.
Domi, picked 8th overall by the Kingston Frontenacs in last week's OHL draft, is a skilled centre who had expressed interest in going to a U.S. college.
But the Knights, who picked right after Kingston in the draft, had interest in him and are likely in the mix for a potential deal to acquire him.
OHL teams can't trade a draft pick until August at the earliest.
Doug Gilmour, the Frontenacs GM, maintained on Wednesday he hopes Domi wears a Kingston uniform next season.
But he has also left the door open to trading Domi, a high-end centre who, according to his famous father, is not exactly a chip off the old block.
Tie Domi, though limited in skill, was a tough guy and fan favourite who played for several years with the Maple Leafs - becoming one of Toronto's best-known athletes.
