Nesbitt powers 67's past Battalion

Thomas Nesbitt scored twice to lead the Ottawa 67's to a 5-1 win over the Brampton Battalion in OHL play Sunday at the Powerade Centre.

Nesbitt's shorthanded goal with just over five minutes left in the first period gave the 67's a 3-0 advantage. He closed out the scoring with a power-play marker midway through the third.

Tyler Toffoli, Shane Prince and Ryan Martindale had the other goals for Ottawa.

Michael Santini scored the only goal for the Battalion.

Ottawa goalie Petr Mrazek stopped 41 shots while Dennis Saikkonen made 21 saves for Brampton.

Brett Thompson's second goal of the game with one minute left in overtime gave the Greyhounds the win over the hometown Storm.

Thompson bailed out the Greyhounds, who allowed the Storm to come from behind to tie the game three times.

Vern Cooper, Brandon Archibald, Carson Dubchak and Daniel Catenacci had the other goals for the Sault. Cooper also had three assists.

Michael Latta had the hat trick for the Storm, including the tying goal with just over 10 minutes left in the third. Taylor Beck had the other two goals.

Chris Perugini made 32 saves in the Greyhounds' net while Brandon Foote stopped 40 shots for the Storm.
