Wheaties fall to Hitmen
By QMI Agency

The Brandon Wheat Kings will have a little extra time to prepare for the Memorial Cup.

The Wheat Kings were thumped 6-1 by the Calgary Himten on Friday, allowing the Hitmen to capture the Eastern Conference final 4-1.

Mark Stone scored the lone goal for the Wheat Kings, who got 33 saves from Jacob De Serres but were outshot 39-21 in the contest.

The Hitmen will face the winner of the series between the Vancouver Giants and Tri-City Americans in the Western Hockey League final.

Brandon will host the Memorial Cup from May 14 to 23 at Westman Place.
