Show him the puck!

The 67’s are adding some serious star power for Game 5 of their OHL Eastern Conference semi-final series with the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors on Thursday night.

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr., who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of flamboyant NFL receiver Rod Tidwell in the smash hit Jerry Maguire, will take part in the ceremonial faceoff at the Urbandale Centre. Gooding is in town shooting his new flick, Sacrifice.

Game time has been moved up to 7 p.m., a half-hour earlier than usual, to make it easier for kids to still get home to bed early enough to be rested for school, the 67’s said in a release.

The series is tied 2-2 after the Majors blanked the 67’s 2-0 on Tuesday in Mississauga.
