The Calgary Hitmen's modest three-game winning streak was blown away in Lethbridge.

Carter Ashton, Cam Braes and Landon Oslanski scored as the hometown Hurricanes trimmed the Hitmen 3-2.

Chase Schaber had a goal and an assist, while Del Cowan scored his first as a Hitmen in a losing cause.

Hitmen winger Brandon Kozun, the WHL's leading scorer, also had an assist to extend his point streak to 15 games.

The Hitmen host the Kootenay Ice this afternoon (2 p.m. at the Dome, Fan 960).

Despite the loss, which drops the Hitmen to 16-6, it was another strong night for the Calgary club's special teams.

The Hitmen went 2-for-5 with the man-advantage and killed off all seven shorthanded situations.

'Canes goaltender Brandon Anderson made 29 saves to pick up his first win of the season, while the Hitmen's Martin Jones turned aside 25 shots.
