The Brampton Battalion will have to get by for the next little while without Cody Hodgson.
Hodgson was hampered by a sore back during the pre-season with the Vancouver Canucks, prompting the club to send him back to Brampton.
The 2008-09 Canadian Hockey League player of the year, Hodgson is scheduled to meet with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Anthony Miniaci in Cleveland on Monday.
Hodgson suffered a bulging disc during training in the summer but had been cleared to play.
Hodgson, the Canucks' first-round pick in 2008, was Brampton's captain last year and stood an excellent chance of sticking in the NHL had he been healthy.
