The Regina Pats are currently sitting outside of the playoff picture.

But despite not being able to add a major piece at the WHL trade deadline, Pats GM Brent Parker is confident his team will come around.

"I like our group -- I've said that all along," Parker, who didn't trade star Jordan Eberle, told the Regina Leader-Post. "The last little while has been an awful stretch and a bad bump in the road, but we will be better, I really believe that. I believe we can still make some noise."

The Pats are just one point behind three teams tied for sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Thrown to the wolves

Saskatoon Blades goaltender Adam Morrison can feel Deven Dubyk's pain.

Dubyk surrendered all 10 goals Saturday night as his Moose Jaw Warriors were handed a 10-1 thrashing by the Blades. Tribe backup Jeff Bosch had a hip injury and couldn't play.

"I know what he was going through," Morrison, who gave up 10 goals to Medicine Hat in an exhibition game, told the Saskatoon StarPhoenix.

"It's tough knowing that you have to stand in there no matter what's thrown at you, but it's good for the development of your mental toughness because nothing's going to be as bad as that."
