Tavares to skip game

The London Knights completed their mid-season tinkering today with the last-minute trade for Londoner Leigh Salters.

Salters, 19, was in his fourth year as a left winger with the Guelph Storm.

In exhange, the Knights gave up their third-round choice in the 2010 draft.

Salters is 6-foot-4 and weighs 225 pounds. He is a graduate of the London Junior Knights minor hockey system.

This year, he played in 12 games with Guelph and had one goal and four assists. His best season was last season when he had 10 goals and 11 assists.

The Knights also announced today that forward John Tavares will not play in tonight's game against Oshawa, but he will play in the Sunday afternoon home game against Mississsauga.
