The 67's named winger Jamie McGinn their captain last night and got the news he will be around to wear the "C" in the club's season opener.

The San Jose Sharks will be returning McGinn and star centre Logan Couture in time for the pair to make the trip to Barrie for the 67's opener against the Colts on Thursday night, said 67's coach and GM Brian Kilrea.

The Boston Bruins are returning No. 1 goaltender Adam Courchaine and defenceman Radim Ostrcil today, though Ostrcil is expected to be out indefinitely because of a wrist injury, said Kilrea.

The 19-year-old McGinn, heading into his fourth season with the 67's, earned the captaincy with his willingness to set an example, said Kilrea.

"He's what you want in a captain," he said. "He's good in the room and he's tried to be a good influence and help the kids do the right things. He's well respected. It was an easy choice."

The alternate captains will be Couture and Thomas Kiriakou. Kilrea will also alternate an "A" between overage forwards and Ottawa natives Jason Bailey and Matthieu Methot. One will wear the letter at home and the other on the road and they will switch at Christmas.

After playing Barrie, the 67's will be in Brampton to face the Battalion Friday night and in Kingston Sunday afternoon.

The home opener is a week from Friday against the Niagara IceDogs.
