VANCOUVER -- The Plymouth Whalers lived to fight another day.

Andrew Fournier scored 4:19 into overtime last night to give the Whalers a 2-1 win over the Lewiston Maineiacs.

With the win the Whalers move into a tie with the Maineiacs for third in the standing with a 1-2 record.

The outcome guarantees at least a berth in the tiebreaker game for each team.

There was a sense as the game went on, one goal would win it.

And when Simon Courcelles scored with just over five minutes left in the third period it appeared Lewiston was on the way to their second victory.

However, Evan Brophey scored with 1:12 left in the period to send the game into overtime.

Brophey was able to bang the puck past Maineiacs goaltender Jonathan Bernier, while short-handed, to tie things up.
