TURNING POINT

The Tigers scored a pair of goals 1:22 apart early in the second period. Hitmen G Dan Spence took a slashing penalty right after David Schlemko had given Medicine Hat the lead. Chris Stevens scored on the ensuing powerplay to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead.

SAVE OF THE GAME

Medicine Hat G Matt Keetley stretched out and robbed Calgary RW Freddie Pettersson with a fantastic save with the right skate late in the opening period.

HIT OF THE GAME

Hitmen C Ryan White came in with a full head of steam and blasted Medicine Hat captain Kris Russell behind the Tigers net late in the opening period. Russell was shaken up and White was handed a double minor for checking from behind.
