3. Dylan Yeo, Hitmen -- Had the puck on his stick for a lot of the third period.

TURNING POINT

The Hitmen battled back from a 3-1 third-period deficit but Kootenay C Steve DaSilva scored his second goal of the game with 3:52 to play in regulation to force Game 7 back in Cranbrook.

SAVE OF THE GAME

The Ice were looking for an insurance goal midway through the third period. D Chad Greenan found LW Ryan Russell wide open at the side of the net.

The Kootenay sniper unloaded a one-timer but Spence slid across with a blocker save.

HIT OF THE GAME

Hitmen LW Brodie Dupont and Kootenay D Lukas Bohunicky were skating full-tilt for a loose puck near the Kootenay blueline.

The Ice blueliner got the worst of the collision and was sent flying late in the first period.

Prior to last night, the Hitmen were 6-4 in Game 6 in franchise history (3-2 at home) ... C Riley Merkley and D Alex Plante returned last night from lengthy stays on the DL. Merkley missed 16 games with his second concussion while Plante (elbow) had been out since Feb. 11, missing 18 games.
