Freddie's firing on all cylinders.

And that's great news for the Calgary Hitmen.

The Swedish import scored his second goal of the game with 38 seconds to go in regulation time last night as the Hitmen beat the Cougars 4-3 in Prince George.

Pettersson blasted a one-timer off a Cougars defender past former Hitmen 'tender Scott Bowles on a late 5-on-3 as Calgary took two of three games on its B.C. road trip.

Pettersson also had a pair of goals in a 3-2 loss in Kamloops last week.

Hitmen rookie Brendan Rowinski scored his first career WHL goal and Keegan Dansereau chipped in with his 27th of the season as Calgary improved to 37-24-3-4.

Dana Tyrell, with a pair, and Chris Durand scored for the Cougars, who blew a 3-2 lead with under five minutes to play in the third period.

Head coach Kelly Kisio said Rowinski, who also had an assist, is starting to feel more comfortable.

"He only played about 12 games in midget last year and he missed two-thirds of this season," Kisio said.

"It's a big jump to the WHL but he's feeling his way along.

"This game should help a great deal with his confidence."

Dan Spence made 22 saves for the visitors to improve to 29-21-4 on the campaign.

The Hitmen host the Saskatoon Blades Sunday (2 p.m. at the 'Dome).
