Starting Friday, the general public gets its crack at tickets for the 2009 World Junior Hockey Championship here in Ottawa.

Only season ticket holders for the Senators and the Ottawa 67's have been able to buy tickets so far for the 31-game tournament, which runs Dec. 26, 2008-Jan. 5, 2009 and they purchased about 40% of the total allotment (155,000).

The rest of the 397,070 tickets will go on sale Friday at noon through capitaltickets.ca, at 613-599-FANS (3267) or at the Senators box office.

Less than 1,000 Gold Packages are available for the 100 level at Scotiabank Place, where 17 games will be played. Fourteen of the games will be played at the Civic Centre.

No single tickets will be available Friday, only 31- or 17-game packages. The 31-game packages start at $27.42 per seat per game and require a $100 deposit. The balance can be paid in three installments over the next two years.
