The hottest team in the Western Hockey League isn't the Vancouver Giants.

Look south to the Everett Silvertips who have won 16 of 18 games. Only one of their two losses was in regulation time.

Giants remain atop the league (by a point over the Medicine Hat Tigers) with 18 wins, but they've lost four, including once in overtime and once in the shootout.

Their second regulation loss came Sunday when the Kamloops Blazers were 4-2 winners, snapping the Giants' 11-game home winning streak.

Brett Festerling had both Giants' goals and Tyson Sexsmith lost for the first time in the season.

Giants beat the expansion Chilliwack Bruins 3-1 Friday on goals by Milan Lucic, Garet Hunt and Mitch Czibere. Vancouver's Dustin Slade faced 10 shots for his eighth win.

Giants host the Seattle Thunderbirds tomorrow (7 p.m., AM 730).

Friday's meeting with the Regina Pats features a reunion of past Vancouver Canucks' captains, including Orland Kurtenbach, Pat Quinn, Stan Smyl and Trevor Linden.

Burnaby Express hosts the Nanaimo Clippers tomorrow night at Bill Copeland Arena in B.C. Hockey League junior A action. Victoria Grizzlies travel to Surrey to meet the Eagles on Thursday.
