Goaltender Dustin Slade registered his fourth shutout of the Western Hockey League playoffs Saturday when the Vancouver Giants blanked the Everett Silvertips 2-0 at the Pacific Coliseum.
The Giants also lead the best-of-seven Western conference championship 2-0. They doubled the Silvertips 4-2 in Friday's series opener, also in Vancouver.
Defenseman Paul Albers had his second marker of the playoffs on a power play with assists from Cody Franson and Gilbert Brule at 12:44 of the second. Michal Repik had an unassisted goal at 3:38 of the third.
Slade faced only 18 shots for the shutout. Matt Esposito made 18 saves at the other end for Everett.
Game three and four are tomorrow night and Thursday at the Everett Events Centre. Game time is 7 p.m. both nights (MOJO AM 730/Shaw TV). Game five, if necessary, would be Saturday at the Pacific Coliseum.
