On the Attack

Michael Futa's club happily latched on to a certain tag in the first round of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs and it does not see any reason to abandon it now.

After pulling a big upset in taking out the Kitchener Rangers, the Owen Sound Attack has a much larger challenge with the defending Memorial Cup champion London Knights.

"Lots has been made of the underdog role, David and Goliath, and we better get some more rocks because it is not going to get any easier," Futa, the Attack general manager, said. "The Knights, with that core of kids, can throw it around like the Harlem Globetrotters on the power play.

"I think our key guys learned a lot last year (when the Attack lost to the Rangers in the first round). Our coaches (head coach Mike Stothers and assistants David Bell and Brian O'Leary) have our team playing its best hockey at the right time."

The second round of the OHL playoffs starts tonight, with the Brampton Battalion playing host to the Barrie Colts and the Peterborough Petes entertaining the Sudbury Wolves.

First-round predictions: 5-3
