SUN THREE STARS

1. JEFF SCHULTZ, Hitmen

2. JUSTIN POGGE, Hitmen

3. JUSTIN LECLERC, Hurricanes

TURNING POINT:

A phantom goal which might never have crossed the line in the first period, shot by Calgary defenceman Karl Alzner, proved to be the game-winner. Replays showed Justin Leclerc reached back and may have caught the puck before it entered the net.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The Hitmen are back in it with the series deadlocked 2-2. They've also got home ice in what is now a best-of-three affair.

HIT OF THE GAME:

The Hurricanes Roman Wick sent Calgary defenceman Shaden Moore to another planet with a huge hit in the Hitmen corner early in the third period. A woozy Moore had trouble getting up, made it to the bench and returned to the game.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Lethbridge 'tender Justin Leclerc was up to his old tricks, denying Calgary's Derek LeBlanc in the first period. LeBlanc took a feed out of the corner from Ryan White and cranked a shot destined for the top right corner but the rookie Hurricane flashed the glove and made the stop early in the first period.

SCRATCHES:

HITMEN: F Kris Deines (thumb, day to day),

D Dylan Yeo (wrist, indefinite), D Curtis Kelner (healthy).

HURRICANES: F Mike Wuchterl (concussion, indefinite), F Andy Bentz (healthy), D Randy King (healthy), F Isaac Reid (healthy).

NOTABLES:

During the season, Calgary was 3-0-1-2 after losing two games in a row ... D Craig Lineker's four assists in Game 3 was the highest point total by a member of the Hitmen all season. Lineker led the team in playoff scoring prior to last night with five points ... Hitmen 2005 bantam pick Martin Jones, a goaltender, was at the game and said he is going to practise with the team today ... The Hitmen have yet to score an even-strength goal in the series.
