The Calgary Hitmen snapped a couple of troublesome skids last night.
Lukas Vantuch, Brodie Dupont and Steve Covington provided the offence as Calgary beat the Raiders in Prince Albert to break a three-game losing skid.
Dupont's goal, which squared the affair at two in the third period, came on the powerplay and ended an 0-for-32 drought with the man advantage.
"It's about time," Dupont said of the club's struggling powerplay. "If you look at the numbers, we've won and lost most of our games because of the powerplay."
Covington's game-winner was a shorthanded effort, the team's second of the season.
The Hitmen, who visit the Saskatoon Blades tonight, improved to 27-10-1-0 and are now three points back of the Central Division-leading Medicine Hat Tigers.
