3. MARK FISTRIC, Giants -- Dallas prospect had a helper and was sound defensively.

TURNING POINT:

Vancouver D Brendan Mikkelson scored his second of the season early in the first period and that was all the visitors would need.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Keegan Dansereau found a pinching Brett Carson in front but Dustin Slade got his glove hand up in time to keep Calgary off the board.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Hitmen D Dylan Yeo crushed Vancouver winger Spencer Machacek just inside the Calgary blueline early in the second period.

HARDEST WORKER:

Calgary RW Keegan Dansereau did a great job on the penalty kill despite absorbing some heavy hits.

FIGHT CARD:

Hitmen W Brodie Dupont squared off with Calgary Flames draft pick J.D. Watt right off the opening draw. Both players landed some big blows ... Calgary's Kris Deines got the decision over Milan Lucic later in the period ... Hitmen RW Ryan White and Brendan Mikkelson traded shots late in the third.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The Hitmen (26-10-0-0) remain in second place in the Central Division.

NOTEWORTHY:

Giants G Dustin Slade also blanked Calgary 5-0 in Vancouver Nov. 5 ... The Hitmen are ranked No. 4 in the country while Vancouver is 10th. Calgary has cracked the top-10 in 10 of 11 weeks this season.
