The highest-scoring OHLer to return from last year has been named captain of his team.
Dylan Hunter, son of coach Dale Hunter, is the 2005-06 captain of the London Knights with Dave Bolland, Trevor Kell and Rob Schremp serving as alternate captains. Hunter was voted captain by his teammates and coaches.
Hunter, who scored 104 points in the Knights' Memorial Cup-winning season, notched two goals Sunday against the Soo Greyhounds in his first game back from a Buffalo Sabres tryout. It was the Knights' first win of the season after four losses.
Hunter was selected in the ninth round of the 2004 NHL draft and was an OHL first team all-star left-winger last year. He previously played for the junior B London Nationals and was a second-round draft choice of the Knights.
He will wear the C beginning tomorrow when the Knights play host to the Barrie Colts at 7:30 p.m. at the John Labatt Centre.
