SCOTT FISHER -- Calgary Sun

, Last Updated: 8:23 AM ET

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Freddie Pettersson, Hitmen. Pair of goals for the high-flying Swede.

2. Steve Covington, Hitmen. Killed penalties almost singlehandedly and potted game-winner.

3. Brodie Dupont, Hitmen. One goal and a couple of close calls.

TURNING POINT:

The Rebels had just halved the Hitmen lead to 2-1 early in the second but goals by Freddie Pettersson on the powerplay and Brodie Dupont 44 seconds apart put Calgary back in the driver's seat.

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Steve Covington ducked behind the Rebels defence, took a pass from Brodie Dupont and was in alone but Red Deer starter Andrew Leslie flashed the leather to keep the Hitmen from adding to a 2-0 lead early in the middle stanza.

HIT OF THE GAME:

Red Deer's Tanner Gillies thought he could slip by along the boards inside the Hitmen blueline but Brett Carson stepped into the Rebels winger and sent him to the ice.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN:
