When the final spectator passes through the turnstile for the championship game tomorrow, this will officially be the sixth-best attended Memorial Cup since the tournament format was adopted in 1972.

All eight games will have drawn sellout crowds. All ticket packages were sold months ago.

With the John Labatt Centre's capacity running at 8,905, the tournament total will reach 71,240.

The record Memorial Cup attendance was in 2003 in Quebec City, when it drew 84,686, an average of 10,586.

The 1999 tournament in Ottawa drew 84,200 (10,525 per game), while Halifax in 2000 saw 80,000 fans (10,000) come out.

Saskatoon in 1999, with nine games, had a total of 77,296 (8,588), followed by Spokane, Wash., in 1998 with 73,013 (9,126).
